Staying Connected to the Holy Spirit

5/27/2013

Staying connected to God is the only way we as believers can walk in faith, victory and live as an overcomer: That means we must stay close to the One in the Trinity who abides in us and is on the earth today. His name is the Holy Spirit!

To be an overcomer and more than an overcomer (Romans 8:37) we must overcome three things:
  1. THE WORLD – Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life; (1 John 2:16-17) To abide forever we must do His will, not simply believe it! Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. To overcome the world takes faith and faith comes when we hear the Word quickened by the Holy Spirit!
  2. THE FLESH – This is very difficult because our flesh actually wars against our spirit in us who is attempting listen and follow Him. Romans 8. The Holy Spirit gives us the grace to say “no” to our flesh and “yes” to obeying the spirit in us who is in touch with the Holy Spirit.
  3. THE DEVIL – We fight a shrewd cunning, conniving devil and there is no way we can defeat Him without the Holy Spirit’s wisdom. 1 John 2:13-14 The Devil is not afraid of: a)The Word in us that we really don’t believe b) Our religious idealism c) The faith we think we have in our own mind; Dirty Harry- ”…you’re a legend in your own mind…”.
The Holy Spirit is our counselor, the One who guides into ALL truth, our comforter, teacher and the One who consumes us with His fire.

Staying connected to the Holy Spirit is the only way we can actually live as a Christian in this world and have victory.

Staying connected to the Holy Spirit is the only way we can walk in holiness; or power.

Staying connected to the Holy Spirit is the only way we can fulfill our purpose on the earth.

Staying connected to the Holy Spirit is the only way we can have access to all that God HAS.

“For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” – 1 Corinthians 2:11
